Maesteg and Llanharan could well fight out the top spot in Division One until May 15 as Maesteg have three matches remaining and Llanharan have seven with both having lost once this season. The key factor could well be try-count and both have to meet fourth-placed Narberth.

Maesteg ran in 13 tries to thrash Brynmawr 83-0 while Llanharan found Rumney a tough nut to crack, leading 21-19 at the interval before racing on to win 54-24 with Mark Roper (3) and Colin Malone (2) leading the eight tries.

Narberth pasted a Treorchy side 116-9 and ran in 18 tries with Andrew Jones scoring five and Simon Daniel gained a try and 13 conversions in a 31-point haul. Bonymaen found Tredegar difficult for 40 minutes, leading 19-12 at Parc Mawr, but then scored 28 more points without reply as skipper Andrew Jacobs gained a try and six conversions, while wing Dan Morris scored both Tredegar tries.

Carmarthen Athletic beat UWIC 35-16 with five tries all goaled by the deadly Julian Howells and Llangennech defeated Beddau 23-6 with 13 points by Mark Jones and two tries from Kevin Jones, while Blackwood won 58-7 at Tondu that saw Anthony Hares scored three of the nine touchdowns.

Whitland scored a sound 32-10 win over Glamorgan Wanderers with tries by Jack Tremlett (2), Lee Glanville, Matt Hughes and Gavin Morris.
