Two midweek matches saw wins for Brynmawr, by 57-0 at home to Tondu, and by Tredegar, with nine tries in a 55-10 beating of Treorchy. Both losing clubs thus ended their seasons.
Brynmawr also gained nine tries with Jason Williams scoring 17 points and Gareth Kearney, Simon King and Dan Morris scored ten points each for Tredegar.
On Saturday, Tredegar’s match at Llangennech is off, but the main attention is at arberth, where leaders Maesteg are visitors and at the Dairy Field, where Llanharan hope to defeat Bonmaen twice in eight days.
Beddau meet Rumney in an interesting match and Carmarthen Athletic hope to turn back Brynmawr, while Blackwood face a tough task of going to Whitland.
DIVISION TWO.
Fleur de Lys meet Builth Wells in a top-of-the-table clash in the East, where ‘Flower’ just must take something from the match after having lost in midweek to Hirwaun.
Rhymney battle to avoid relegation at home to Llantrisant and Risca fight for points as they travel to Llantwit Fardre.
Nerves cost Tonmawr the West title on Wednesday as they crashed 19-16 at home to Corus, but now a point at home to Cardigan will give Tonmawr the title. Corus have tough opposition in Dunvant, who are challenging Bridgend Athletic for runners-up spot.
DIVISION THREE.
Newport Saracens hope to keep up their challenge on Senghenydd for the East title as they face Cwmbran at Newport CS Ground, while Gilfach Goch go to Brecon knowing that they must win to challenge Treherbert with Nantymoel hoping to make it a three-club race as they go to Mountain Ash.
Kidwelly face a tough match at Haverfordwest in the West, but Pontyberem, who entertain Gorseinon, are favourites as they have one more match to play.
In the South-West, Banwen gained the title on Wednesday by defeating Glynneath and have two home matches still to play. Mumbles will finish second and they travel to Ammanford.
DIVISION FOUR.
Bargoed have won the East title and are still unbeaten with one match to play after a midweek win at Pontllanfraith. In the West, Loughor have to beat Fishguard in the penultimate fixture before taking on Pembroke Dock Quins for the title.
Ruthin are already the winners of the North ad travel to Mold, while runners-up Nant Conwy entertain Rhyl. The Fairwater-Pontycymmer game at Ashcroft Park, Cardiff, will have Abercwmboi watching closely in the South-East.
In the South-West, Alltwen go to Rhigos in search of a bag of tries and a win to take the title away from Cwmgors.
DIVISION FIVE.
The North title hots up as Colwyn Bay face Bangor at noon and Dynbych travel to Rhos, while Llantwit Major go to Canton in the South-East with runners-up spot in mind as Llandaff North meet South Wales Police at Waterton Cross.
Crymych hope for a home win in the West where the contest with Cefneithin gets tight and in the South-West Reslven travel to Neath Athletic for the third time in the hope of a game, while Aberavon Green Stars take on Tonna in a big match.
St Alban’s take a surprise run of five winners up to Nantyglo for an interesting match in the East division.
