Lee Jarvis has made the move from the Neath-Swansea Ospreys to RFU National League Division 1 side Penzanze & Newlyn to join up with a host of other Welsh players.

Penzance’s Welsh recruits in the off-season includes, Kevin James (Newport), Steve Evans (Cardiff), Rhodri McAtee/ Duncan Murray (Worcester), Martin Morgan (Llanelli), Wes Davies (Wigan).

And the reason for the exodus is former Wales lock Kevin Moseley, who is now coaching the side.

‘I know quite a few people in Wales still and when certain players become available I’m notified immediately,’ said Moseley, who won 15 caps at international level.

‘Penzance is a lovely place to live and that’s why many players are attracted to the club.

‘Also we are an ambitious club – you just have to look at the signings we have made to see that.

‘Lee Jarvis is still a class act while Kevin James is good enough to play regional rugby in my view.

‘But what’s their loss is most definitely our gain.’

Moseley, now 41, has come across many old friends and foes during his eight-year player-coaching spell in Cornwall with the Pirates.

‘It’s funny how many Welsh boys there are playing or coaching in England now,’ he added.

‘Adrian Davies is on board with London Welsh while I have had many dealings with coaches such as Paul Turner, Phil Davies and many other ex-Wales internationals in my time here.

‘It’s interesting to see that there are so many good coaches having to ply their trade out of Wales.’
