Fly-half James Hook bagged 24 points as Neath swept Carmarthen Quins aside to continue their unbeaten run in the Welsh Premier Division.

Quins went into the match in second place on the table, but had no answer to the rampaging Welsh All Blacks, who ran in eight tries in a 54-22 mauling at the Gnoll.

Defending champions Newport lost their unbeaten record, stumbling 27-13 to Llanelli at Stradey Park, while bottom club Caerphilly crashed 5-23 at home to Cross Keys and are still looking for their first victory of the season.

Promoted side Llanharan led Pontypool by 17 points at halftime, but conceded 30 unanswered points as Pooler cruised to a 37-24 win, while Aberavon beat Swansea 16-10 in a hard-fought match at the Talbot Ground.

Llandovery beat Ebbw Vale 28-15 thanks to the boot of fly-half Gareth Morgan, Bridgend goal-kicker Gareth David slotted a last-minute penalty goal as the Ravens beat Pontypridd 13-12 and Bedwas were 31-16 winners over Newbridge.
