Gavin Henson reached the 400 league points mark against Glasgow Rugby on Saturday evening as the Ospreys extended their lead at the top of the table. In total the Ospreys ran in six tries – with four in a second half performance that was full of confidence against a Glasgow side who tried to play attacking quality rugby right to the end.

Although Dan Parks had opened for the visitors with a penalty, the home side were swift to respond with a Henson penalty quickly followed by great tries from Steve Tandy and Sonny Parker. Shane Williams produced an electric run to set up Tandy for the first, and only a couple of minutes later a fine forward drive allowed Parker the space to score his side’s second.

Cammie Mather, in his first game back from injury, responded with a try for the visitors just before the break but in the second period the pace and power of the Ospreys allowed them to create four more tries, with Andy Millward, Ryan Jones, Richard Mustoe and David Bishop all touching down.

However, to their credit Glasgow continued to look for the counter and were rewarded in the dying minutes when Donnie Macfadyen got their second try.
