After conceding a try to Nathan Williams early on, Neath replied with 13 tries, of which fly half James Hook converted the last 12. Hook also ran in three tries for a total of 39 points to equal the Premier record and flanker John McPhail crossed for four tries.

Second-placed Newport recorded a 51-1 win at Llandovery to keep the chase on Neath as Dan Griffiths kicked nine goal shots for a total of 21 points and Carmarthen Quins gained a narrow 21-19 win at Bedwas, though home fly half Andrew James almost gavie his side the points with a late drop shot that missed the Quins posts.
