Club graphic

The evening, sponsored by Coca-Cola and WM magazine, was attended by 160 guests, including WRU and WWRU Officials, sponsors, national squad members and club representatives.

The Senior Player of the Year Award was awarded to Elen Evans. Since winning her first cap in the defeat of Ireland in 2004 Six Nations, Elen has picked up 15 caps and displayed her exceptional talent at Full-Back. Her electrifying pace and eye for the gap enabled her to finish up as joint top try-scorer this season.

The U19 Player of the Year Award was presented to Rhian Bowden. As Captain of the U19, Rhian led her squad to an emphatic victory against England and ushered excellent performances against a powerful Canada side. Her workhorse nature was recognised in April, when she was called up to the bench for the Senior fixture against South Africa. A versatile player, she is equally at home at flanker and hooker, leading by example from both berths.

Sioned Harries and Rachel Roberts were the proud recipients of the U16 Player of the Year award, while Amy Broadstock picked up the Dennis Donovan Memorial Award.

The sterling work of Blaenau Gwent captain and Newport Girls coach Annemarie Rogers was recognised by the Moat House Hotel Award for Services to Women and Girls’ rugby. Through her effervescent commitment, Blaenau Gwent have an exemplary player base and consistent results, while Newport Girls is one of the fastest growing junior sides, playing regular rugby against other Welsh sides and cross-border.

Llandaff North were awarded both the South Division 1 and National Cup for the fourth year running, while Caernarfon also made it four in a row in the North. Fishguard and Goodwick received the South Division 2 honours. Also at the vital grassroots level, Birchgrove Ladies RFC received the coveted Coca-Cola Club of the Year award.
