WRU PRESS RELEASE

WRU PRESS RELEASE

Tickets issued to Aberavon, Blaenavon, Caldicot, Cilfynydd, Cwmgwrach, Gorseinon and Resolven have been found on internet auction websites.

This practice clearly contravenes the regulations outlined in the WRU ticket policy which was issued to all clubs, debenture holders, affiliated bodies and published in the media and on the WRU website, to ensure that Welsh rugby international tickets remain in the hands of true rugby supporters and not sold to the highest bidder.

The WRU will be taking action against these clubs – and to all clubs, debenture holders, affiliated bodies or individual beneficiaries of tickets who are found to have abused the WRU regulations.

Each case in question is currently under scrutiny before any decision is made on what action is to be taken against the clubs.

What is clear is that the tickets in question will be withdrawn from circulation making them null and void. This means that people should not consider buying tickets up for sale in this way because they are highly likely to be refused entry to the Millennium Stadium or ejected from their seat.

Sanctions available to the WRU include the withdrawal of all ticket allocation to the organisations or individuals found in breach of the ticket policy.
