Powergen Cup possible semi-final qualifiers
The winner of each pool will qualify for the semi-final.
The pool winner will be the team with the highest number of competition ‘match points’ in each pool.
Where teams are equal on points, the final pool standings will be based on the results of the head to head matches between the two (or three) teams concerned.

Below is a non-exhaustive list of some of the likely scenarios following Round 3 results and the semi-final qualifier should teams be level on match points.

Pool A
  Bath win – Bath go through regardless of bonus points.
  Gloucester win – Gloucester go through regardless of bonus points.
  A draw would see Gloucester through unless Bath get a try bonus and Gloucester don’t – in which case Bath would progress on more tries scored.
  Bristol and Ospreys are out.

Pool B
  London Wasps win – Wasps go through regardless of bonus points.
  Wasps lose but get two bonus points – Wasps go through regardless of Cardiff Blues result.
  Cardiff Blues, Saracens and Wasps all finish on 9 points – match points between the 3 clubs mean Wasps and Blues would be level (Saracens out). This would then go down to tries scored in the games – Blues would have 7; Wasps would have 4 plus tries against Saracens.
  Cardiff Blues, Saracens and Wasps all finish on 10 points – Wasps would go through due to bonus points picked up against Blues and Saracens.
  Saracens and Cardiff Blues finish on 10 points. Blues would go through as they beat Saracens.

Pool C
  Llanelli Scarlets win – Scarlets go through regardless of bonus points.
  Llanelli Scarlets, Newcastle and Sale all finish on 9 points – Newcastle through because they have scored more points in matches between the three tied clubs.
  Llanelli Scarlets, Newcastle and Sale all finish on 10 points – match points between the 3 would mean Scarlets and Newcastle level (Sale out). This would then go down to tries scored in the games – Newcastle would have 7, Scarlets 3 plus any tries scored against Sale.
  Llanelli Scarlets and Sale finish joint top on 9 points – Sale go through.
  Newcastle and Sale finish joint top on 9 or 10 points – Newcastle go through.
  Llanelli Scarlets and Newcastle finish joint top on 9 or 10 points – Scarlets through.

Pool D
  Northampton Saints win – Northampton go through regardless of bonus points.
  Northampton lose but get two bonus points – Northampton go through on 11 points.
  Leicester, Newport Gwent Dragons and Northampton all finish on 9 points – Northampton go through as they have more match points from the games between the three teams.
  Leicester and Northampton finish joint top on 9 or 10 points – Leicester go through as they beat Northampton.
