The win – Dunvant’s 10th of the season – gives them an eight-point lead on the table after second-placed Pontyberem slipped up 20-6 at mid-table Bridgend Athletic. Loughor move above Pontyberem with a tough 13-8 win at bottom-placed Mumbles. Outside backs Barry Madden, Peter Ford and Adrian Lewis bagged Dunvant’s tries, while the boot of Loughor outside-half Ben Davies (two penalty goals and a
conversion) proved crucial in his side’s narrow victory.

In Division Three West, leaders Penclawdd made it 11 wins from 11 matches with a 52-12 demolition of Newcastle Emlyn, but they can’t shake off Trimsaran, who beat Tumble 30-13. Winless Hendy went close to their first points of the season before losing 20-14 at home to Haverfordwest.

Division Three South-West remains the closest of all the Welsh Leagues, with four clubs within two points. Leaders Tonna took care of Bryncoch 34-11, but wins to Cwmavon, Aberavon Quins and Nantyffyllon ensure a great finish to the season.

Pontarddulais beat New Dock Stars 37-18 to stay top of Division Four West, and they were given a helping hand by Milford Haven, who beat second-placed Ammanford 13-10. Morriston are well clear in Division Four South-West, despite having their match at Taibach called off. Heol y Cyw put a major dent in Pontycymmer’s title hopes with a 13-10 victory, while Birchgrove and Glynneath both won to stay in touch with the leaders.

Leaders Llanybydder smashed Penygroes 52-10 to record their 10th League win of the season in Division Five West, while runners-up Burry Port (46-0 winners at bottom-placed St Clears) and Aberaeron (22-10 winners at struggling St Davids) are poised in behind. In Division Five South West, BP Llandarcy’s perfect record went out the window with a 26-24 home loss to Cefn Cribbwr, while Pyle remain anchored to the bottom with an 11th straight loss – 31-21 to Ystradgynlais.
