With Leicester having already won the group, Kevin Morgan and Ian Gough have been given a break following their exertions against New Zealand. Ceri Sweeney, Gareth Cooper and Michael Owen have been released to the World XV squad to play South Africa in Leicester.

Paul Emerick (shoulder), Peter Sidoli (back) and Joe Bearman (hip) are also missing for the fixture.

Backs coach Dai Rees and players Gareth Baber, James Harris and Aled Thomas are with the Wales Sevens squad for tournaments in Dubai and South Africa.

Tight head prop Rhys Thomas, outside-half Craig Warlow and hooker Steve Jones are long-term injuries.

Dragons coach Paul Turner has called up Jamie Corsi, Luke Evans, Scott Williams and Gareth Maule from the academy.

The Dragons won last year’s cup meeting between the sides 33-10 at Newport’s Rodney Parade. Yet the Warriors will be boosted by an improved showing in Sunday’s surprise 17-20 Guinness Premiership win at Saracens.
