The purpose of the DVD is to show that healthy choices are important, not just for the elite athlete, but for everyone in order to live a healthy life.

A total of 22 schools – one on each Unitary Authority – will receive visits from Wales players this term, with the likes of Dwayne Peel, Ryan Jones, Gavin Evans, Ceri Sweeney, Kevin Morgan and Ian Gough bringing the ‘Chips or Champs’ DVD to classrooms throughout Wales.

Wales’s First Minister Rhodri Morgan will tomorrow join Blues, Wales and Lions prop Gethin Jenkins on his visit to St Cyres Comprehensive School, Penarth, to officially mark the launch of the DVD.

Other visits tomorrow include Ian Gough at Bettws Comprehensive, Dwayne Peel at Coedcae Comprehensive and Dafydd Jones at Aberaeron Comprehensive.

Each participating school has been provided with a pre-visit pack to facilitate the visit, as well as a DVD containing six quirky film clips of the Wales players for use outside of the school tour.

To ensure the future success of this project, school tours include opportunities for children to have their say. In return for feedback, each school will have a chance to win a coveted team day, where a class will get a tour of the Millennium Stadium, as well as a chance to watch and meet the team.
