Wales U20 captain Hugh Gustafson will bolster the Dragons’ front row with the prop signing from the Scarlets. Ospreys wing Richard Mustoe, who has made over 50 appearances for the Magners League champions, has joined on a season long loan.
In addition, the Gwent side have confirmed Paul Emerick, Jamie Corsi, Ashley Smith, Phil Dollman, Gareth Maule, Alix Walker, Lewis Evans and James Harris have all signed contract extensions at Rodney Parade.
“Next season is going to be a huge challenge both in the Magners League and back in with the big boys of the Heineken Cup, and the squad are looking forward to that,” said Dragons Head Coach Paul Turner.
“It is welcome news that some extra funds are available and will certainly give us the ability to bring in some quality to replace players that have left. We hope that the momentum we have started in this past season will take us on to better and bigger things.
“The support has been phenomenal and people have commented to me about the special kind of atmosphere and we hope that will be in evidence next season.”
The Dragons will be without the services of Wales internationals Ian Gough, Gareth Cooper and Aled Brew next season, who have all left for pastures new.
