At the beginning of October the Women’s Department at the Welsh Rugby Union encouraged the budding stars of the future of the Women’s game in Wales to apply to attend the trials. The application period ended on Wednesday 24th October 2007 and a full trial session will now take place between 9.30am and 4.30pm this Saturday (27th October 2007) at the University Playing Fields, Llanrumney Cardiff to see who will make up the very first Wales Women U20 squad.

Sophie Bennett, Women’s Elite Manager commented: “I am very excited about this new squad and hope that it will be the breeding ground for future Senior Internationals. The fixture schedule is set to be very competitive including the potential of a tour to Canada next summer.”

In order to be eligible, players must have been 17, 18 or 19 years of age on 1st September 2007 and either have been born in Wales, have a Welsh parent or grandparent or have resided permanently in Wales for the past 36 months.

Trialists are reminded that proceedings will begin promptly at 9.30am.
