Back on the 27th of October 2007, almost forty players from all over Wales attended trials at the University Playing Fields, Llanrumney, Cardiff to select the first ever Wales Women U20 squad.

The players were put through their paces by the coaching set up consisting of Head Coach Kylie Wilson and Assistant Coach Chris Garrett. They also experiencedcoaching skills sessions from Regional Skills Coaches Danny Wilson and Gruff Rees.

The standard was extremely high and made selection extremely difficult, but at the end of the session a development squad of 26 players was selected.

The squad consists of a mixture of both new players as well as more experienced players such as Mared Evans (Senior International, National Academy, U19), Carys John and Ceri Redman (Wales Development, U19),Amy Lawrence, Sian Williams, Amy Thompson, Vicky Owens,Bethan Preece (National Academy, U19), Laura Marsh, Issy Jones, Sam Hill, Levi Hallett (U19).

This is an exciting time for the U20’s and the levels of experience within this 2007/2008 squad should prove to be of benefit to the coaching team in helping to prepare for the upcoming fixtures.
