Head Coach Warren Gatland will now take his RBS Six Nations Grand Slam winning side to Vodacom Park, Bloemfontein on Saturday 7th June and then Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria on Saturday 14th with just two recognized scrum halves in Gareth Cooper and Warren Fury after deciding not to add to his tour squad which now stands at 25 players.

“Andy suffered a recurrence of a back problem during training last week and as a consequence he has been deemed unfit to tour,” said Davies.

Gatland looks likely to add hooker Richard Hibbard to bring his tour party to 26 later this week, after Hibbard has been put through his paces in training as a replacement for his injured Ospreys colleague Huw Bennett.

The Wales team leave for the home of the World Champion Springboks on Thursday 29th May.
