All of the East Division games were postponed, although two games did go ahead in Swalec Division Three South East.
Penarth ended the year in style and romped home to a 61-5 win over basement battlers Treherbert. Penarth grabbed nine tries in the process, with fullback Chris Roberts racing over for a hat-trick.
The magnificent Roberts was joined on the scoreboard by hooker Gary Power who was true to his name as he drove over for two, while centre Steve Roberts, wing James Crothers, and back-row duo Marc Devine and Aaron Ellis all crossed.
Roberts also added four conversions, bringing his personal tally to 23-points while wing Chris Poole also kicked eight points. While fly half Ross Harris touched down for Treherbert’s only points. The win means Penarth overtake St Peters to reach the top of the division.
The division’s only other game saw hosts Brecon go down 25-9 to Pentyrch. Paul Smith crossed for two tries while Hywel Williams contributed 15 crucial points.
The West Divisions faired a little better and in Division Two West Maesteg secured their place at the top of the table with a 26-0 triumph at Dunvant.
Aled Davies raced away to score two tries while Ryan Turner also touched down, while fly-half Robbie Evans 11 points.
Tenth placed Aberystwyth gave Maesteg a further Christmas present with a surprise victory over second-placed BP Llandarcy. Jason Rees and Davies Norman were the heroes for the hosts, scoring two crucial tries.
Elsewhere Aberavon Quins ground out an impressive 18-14 win over mid-table rivals Kidwelly. Quins’s fly half Mark Shepard crossed for a try and added a further eight points with the boot, while Chris Jones danced over for a try of his own.
In another mid-table battle Pontyberem beat Ammanford away from home. Adrian Williams dashed over for the games only try and Mike Sarrow added eleven points with the boot to give the visitors a hard-fought 16-15 win.
