The north Walians will be hoping to overturn last season’s narrow 23-20 defeat to Swansea in the Cup final. Both teams enter the clash in top shape, having scored landslide victories in the semi-finals.

Swansea have only conceded 20 points in their quest to retain the crown having brushed aside Haverfordwest 65-0 in the first round before beating Pontyclun 13-39 in the quarter-finals. Swansea stepped up the heat in the semis and blew Gwernyfed away with a 97-7 victory.

Caernarfon have rattled up 186 points en route to the final with a 96-10 rout of Seven Sisters in the first round before strolling into the semi-finals with a walkover against Lampeter. Caernarfon then put Llandaff North to the sword with a convincing 90-5 victory in the semis.

Regular foes Seven Sisters and Whitland will make their eighth appearance in nine years in the Plate final.

The year both teams failed to make the final was 2012, when it was won by Whitland. This years only encounter between the two sides saw Whitland claim a 55-17 victory.

Although neither have been able to gain league success, their new found form in the Super Cup campaign suggests this will be another exciting final.

Seven Sisters recorded a 106-0 win against Ynysybwl in the quarter-finals while Whitland won 55-5 at Haverfordwest. In the semi-finals Seven Sisters defeated Senghenydd 48-21 while Whitland brushed aside Pencoed 74-14.

There will be a new winner’s name engraved on the Bowl, as both Deri and Taffs Well make their first appearance

Division 2 B Champions Deri were fortunate to have a bye in the first round before eliminating north Wales high flyers Welshpool (10-93) and league rivals Tumble (5-47). Taffs Well had to overcome CRCC (34-5) and Cilfynydd (7-38) before eliminating Division 2 adversaries Morriston (31-10) to make the finals. Neither team have met this season so they’ll both need to keep a sharp eye on each other to secure the honours.

In the Youth Cup final, Nelson will take on Cardiff Quins
