Mark Taylor joins as a National Appointed Director, replacing Martin Davies who will step down at next month’s (October 14th) Annual General Meeting after 15 years of dedicated service in the role.

Hywel Roberts of Welshpool RFC was elected as ‘District J’ Appointed Director in North Wales, replacing Alwyn Jones, and Chris Jones of Newcastle Emlyn RFC was elected as a ‘District G’ Appointed Director in West Wales, replacing Anthony John.

Both departing District Appointed Directors are retiring having served on the Board since 2012 – with John also serving a prior term – and are commended for their services to Welsh rugby.

New National Appointed Director Taylor is the former Wales captain and Ospreys, Scarlets, Swansea and British & Irish Lions centre who has previously held positions as Wales U20s team manager and Scarlets team manager and is a chartered accountant.

All three new Directors will commence their terms of office as at the end of the WRU AGM to be held on Sunday 14th October, when the retiring Directors will also leave their positions.

Brian Fowler and Gordon Eynon were both re-elected unopposed as District Appointed Directors in ‘District F’ and ‘District H’ respectively.

Rhodri Lewis, the WRU’s Head of Legal Affairs has also recently been appointed to replace Gareth Williams as Company Secretary.

Williams held the position of Company Secretary since 2010 and has left to take up the position of Chairman of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, with Lewis already assuming his duties alongside his own current executive role.
