PREM NEWS: Ironmen go top after bonus point win

Merthyr powered to a bonus-point win to stay on course for a possible hat-trick of Principality Premiership titles as they beat Bridgend 38-16 at The Wern on Friday night.

Jamie Murphy kicked three penalties and converted a try by Connor Tantum for the visitors, the strength of the home pack was too much for the Ravens to handle. Sam Hobbs, Hemi Brnes and Rhys Williams all scored from the home forwards and Justin James and Kyle Evans made it a five star performance.

Matthew Jarvis converted all five tries and added a penalty to complete the victory. The win took the Ironmen back to the top of the table, three points clear of Ebbw Vale and Llandovery, who both play today.
