Jake Crockett scored a club record 39 points for Brecon

Brecon’s Jake Crockett was a star of the show as he notched a club record 39 points in a match with a stunning individual performance in his side’s 69-10 hammering of Senghenydd in Division One East.​

Crockett ran in a hat-trick of tries, converted all nine of the champions’ tries and also added two penalties for good measure.​ There were also two tries each for Ewan Williams and Scott Gibson, and one try apiece for Owen Morgan and Ryan James, as the champions went on the rampage. ​

Brecon remain 12 points back on leaders Newbridge, albeit with three games in hand.​ The leaders remain undefeated and made it 12 wins out of 13 with a thoroughly comprehensive 70-6 home defeat of Monmouth in the battle of top verses bottom.​

Eamonn Rees helped himself to 25 points as he convertd all 10 tries and grabbed one himself. The other try scorers were Sam Watkins and Sam Davies, both with two, and Mike Kavanagh, Jakob Duffy, Matthew Davies, Liam Crandon and Matthew McGovern.

Brynmawr dropped from second to third after going down 23-6 at Penallta. ​Will Keep grabbed two tries for the Pitmen with David Hooper also going over. Matthew Brewer kicked one conversion and two penalties while Brynmawr’s six points also came from the tee, courtesy of Dan Butler. ​

Division One East Central leaders Treorchy were defeated 10-6 at home by St Joseph’s and that allowed Rhydyfelin – who won 24-17 at Dinas Powys – to close the gap from seven points to three – with a game in hand. ​

Kieron Phillips’ hat-trick inspired the Village with Garyn Lucas their other scorer. David Gratton added the extras to two of them. ​

Division One West leaders Newcastle Emlyn were 17-10 victors’ at Gowerton, where the win was sealed by Osian Davies’ score, converted by Shaun Leonard, and a penalty try.​

Nearest challengers Llangennech won 43-20 with a bonus point at Llanelli Wanderers to close the gap to three points, while champions Felinfoel returned to winning ways 21-14 win at Pembroke. ​Jordan Dunne, Luke Marsh and Matthew Moore grabbed the Foel tries, all converted by Jonny George. ​

In Division One West Central, Dunvant took maximum points from their 31-22 win over Brynamman and are now level on points with Bonymaen – who won 26-5 at Waunarlwydd.​ Glynneath defeated Tondu 20-10 and are eight points back on Bony with two games in hand.​

Kieran Marney, captain James Parry and Jordan Griffiths were the Glynneath try scorers. Dylan Francis kicked the rest.​

Northern champions Llandudno thrashed COBRA 70-0 to maintain their 100 per cent winning record.​ They are three points clear of Ruthin, but have played three matches less.
