Welsh rugby clubs have been informed that training and playing can continue under current guidance

It was also agreed by the Community Board that if clubs wished to postpone any matches scheduled for this weekend (8/9 Jan) they may do so, without sanctions, providing they informed the Welsh Rugby Union admin and referees’ departments at their earliest convenience and no later than Thursday, wherever possible. This was extended to Indigo Group Premiership matches, Admiral National League, Women’s Cup games, Youth Cup/ League, Schools, mini and junior matches.

In addition, following the latest Welsh Government announcement (Friday 7 Jan), the Welsh Rugby Union has sent this updated guidance to support clubs, schools and other key partners on all areas of their on and off-field activities:

There will be an opportunity to seek further clarity by attending one of two WRU webinars to be held next Tuesday 11 Jan and Wednesday 12 January.

WRU Community Director Geraint John said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers and supporters for adhering to the guidance so far in this process and to remind all clubs to ensure they continue to do so to keep everyone as safe as possible.”
