WRU Premiership Cup holders Cardiff face a tricky trip to Eugene Cross Park to meet Ebbw Vale in the quarter-finals on 9 December in the latest step on the ‘Road to Principality 2024’.

The Steelmen recently handed out a 36-21 beating to the Blue & Blacks on their own turf in the Indigo Premiership and progressed to the last eight on the back of a convincing 40-19 triumph over Neath at The Gnoll.

Cardiff overcame arch-rivals Newport in the opening round in a repeat of last season’s cup final, triumphing 38-15 at the Arms Park.

Indigo Premiership champions Llandovery, who are unbeaten to date this season, will have home advantage at Church Bank over Aberavon. The Wizards overcame last season’s Championship Cup winners Pontypool 20-10 to reach the last eight.

Merthyr, cup winners in 2018, will host the 2010 and 2016 finalists Carmarthen Quins, while Swansea, without a cup final win since 1999, welcome 2015 champions Bridgend.

In the WRU Championship Cup last 16, the 2023 runners-up Ystrad Rhondda will head to Ammanford, while last season’s Division 1 Cup winners, Newbridge, will welcome Bargoed to the Welfare Ground.

Ystrad Rhondda went into the fourth round of Championship East matches unbeaten and clear at the top by three points from Newbridge, who completed the league and cup double in Division 1 East last season.

There were three teams boasting a 100% record in Championship West going into the fourth round, Brecon, Narberth and Dunvant. Dale McIntosh’s Brecon side will head to Bonymaen, while Dunvant host Maesteg Quins and the free-scoring Narberth will welcome Rumney.

North Wales champions Nant Conwy, who reached the final of the Division 1 Cup at Principality Stadium last season, have been drawn away at Mountain Ash in Round 2.

Both Nant and Llandudno are unbeaten in the northern league to date this season, with The Goats having a home clash with Caernarfon in the next round.

Abertillery BG, who won the Division 3 Cup final last season, will host Lampeter Town in the next round of the WRU Division 2 Cup on 28 October.

The Gwent club were 26-19 winners at Treharris in the first round, while Lampeter also triumphed on the road, beating Fishguard 34-27 in another close contest. Resurgent Llanharan, who are top of table in Division 2 East Central, will host Resolven.

There will be only one fixture in round two of the Division 3 Cup with the other 31 teams having byes. The game will be between Newtown and Cardigan. Newtown won 36-10 at Bangor in Round 1, while Cardigan received a walk over against Bryncoch.

Division 4 East leaders Newport Saracens, who crushed Crickhowell 55-0 in Round 1, will have home advantage over Llandaff North on 28 October in the last 16.

New Panteg’s reward for winning by a point at Crumlin is another away trip to Caerau Ely, while South Gower head to Llantwit Major.

Penybanc’s reward for their thrilling 43-36 home win over Fall Bay in the opening round of the WRU Division 5 Cup is a long trek north to face Colwyn Bay’s second string in Round 2.

Colwyn Bay are one of nine north Wales clubs who have 2nd XVs who have reached the second round of the competition.
