Full-back Ashley Sutton, centre Hedd Nicholas, scrum-half Alex Williams and flanker Josh Hamer were the Otters’ try scorers, while there were two penalties and two conversions for Jonathan Rogers.

Flanker Gethin Davies scored twice for the visitors, with skipper Carwyn Phillips also going over. All three tries were converted by Eilir George but they would leave empty handed.

Second placed Llangennech ran in seven tries as they defeated bottom side Tata Steel 46-29 and are six points back having played a game more. Jordan Saunders, Luke Davies, Eray Wilson, Iestyn Jones, Ellis Dickeson, Steff Marshall and Sam Richards all scored tries, while Marshall kicked three conversions and Davies one.

Elsewhere, a last-gasp penalty from Dion McIntosh snatched a narrow 27-26 win for Brecon at Bonymaen. Osian Davies, Geraint Workman and Tom Richards all dotted down with McIntosh adding three conversions and two penalties including his match-winning effort from long range.

Tom Poole scored two tries for Bonymaen with Ben Davies and Cameron Setter also touching down. Thomas kicked two conversions and Setter one.

Cai Andrew’s try and two penalties from the boot of Rhys Harris earned victory for Trebanos 11-7 in a low-scoring contest against Ammanford. Ceri Rees was the Ammanford scorer, converted by Ryan Williams.

Dan Davies, Steffan Evans, Mike Jones and Aled Sion were all among the scorers to help steer Newcastle Emlyn past Dunvant 45-26 and Maesteg Quins were victorious 30-15 at Ystalyfera.

Admiral Championship East leaders Ystrad Rhondda were defeated by Cardiff Met for the second time this season. Met won 19-15 having also triumphed 39-32 in the reverse fixture back in October.

Harlequins wing Roma Zheng  and former Wales U20 back five forward Benji Williams were joined on the scoresheet by Jake Thomas, with Vikas Meijer adding two conversions. Rhys Truelove and Nathan Hughes crossed for the Ystrad tries, with Truelove adding a conversion and penalty.

The two sides now prepare to meet again at Gelligaled Park on Saturday for a place in the semi-finals of the WRU Championship Cup.

Bargoed, with two games in hand, are now just a point behind but they had to come from behind before eventually seeing off Glamorgan Wanderers 31-24.

The visitors led 19-14 at half time and were also 24-14 ahead in the second half but Bargoed rallied and pulled through. Morgan Edwards scored twice with Morgan Thomas, Dylan Williams and Ollie Andrews also on the scoresheet. Matthew Lewis kicked three conversions.

Cian Jones, Simon Veall, Jakob Duffy, Ieuan Jones, Matthew Jefferies and a penalty try saw Newbridge get the edge on Rumney 38-34. Eamonn Rees added three conversions.

Callum McDonald, Henry Jarrett, Charlie Barrett and Rhodri Mordan were the Rumney scorers. Jake Hillman kicked four conversions and two penalties.

St Peter’s won 33-26 against Treorchy, their first victory since winning the reverse fixture back on October 14th. Harry Gimson bagged a brace with Lloyd Smith, Joe Davies and Ryan Newton also on the scoresheet. Che Thomas added four conversions.

Bedwas avenged October’s heavy home loss to Penallta but only just got past the Pitmen, winning 26-25. Luke Crane, Adam Williams, Hamish Anderson and Lloyd Wilkins scored with three conversions from James Dixon.

Beddau ran out 41-30 victors over Cross Keys. Callaghan Smith, Ewan Roberts and a Cody Baker double inspired them. Smith kicked two conversions and five penalties while Hywel Chatham also kicked a conversion.
