Bargoed moved to within a point of Admiral Championship East leaders Cardiff Met after coming out on top 40-25 against the Archers in their top of the table clash.

Morgan Edwards, Ollie Andrews, James Leadbeater, Dylan Williams and Ashley Norton all dotted down in a five-star showing for Bargoed. Josh Prosser kicked three conversions and three penalties.

It’s a win that moves Bargoed to within a point of Met with two games in hand and could be a significant blow in the title race. Zak Roberts, Olly James and Will Owen scored for Met, with two conversions and two penalties from Ross McKay.

Ystrad Rhondda are two points back in third after overcoming Penallta 26-18 with a bonus-point triumph. The win came courtesy of tries for Corben Evans, Kelly Jones, Cavan Davies and Jarred Llewellyn. Rhys Truelove added the extras to three of them.

Beddau just had the edge on St Peter’s 19-18. They scored all of their points in the first half through tries from Ethan Coombes, Sam Edwards and skipper Jordan Goodwin. Cody Baker kicked two conversions.

Gbemi Fisher and Tom Fitzpatrick scored for the visitors, who fought back from 19-7 down at the break. Tom Jeans kicked a conversion with Tom Francis sending over two penalties.
Tries from Lewis David, Max Rivers and Dale Rogers and two conversions from James Dixon helped Bedwas win 19-16 at Newbridge. Josh Thomas got the Newbridge try. Robbie Turley converted and kicked three penalties.

Glamorgan Wanderers were triumphant 17-8 at Treorchy to make it back-to-back wins while Cross Keys defeated Rumney 21-10.

In the Championship West division, leaders Narberth extended their unbeaten run to 15 wins in a row but were given a scare at Llangennech, coming from behind to win 18-15 with the last play of the match.

Lewys Gibby and Dean James scored for Narberth with Jonathan Rogers kicking eight points. Tom Davies and Iestyn Jones went over for the hosts, who led 12-3 at the break, with Steff Marshall kicking their other five points.

That defeat for Llangennech allowed Brecon to move back up into second after the recorded a 31-22 win over Ammanford. Jack Crockett, Sam Jones, Logan McIntosh and a penalty try were on the scoresheet for Brecon. Dion McIntosh kicked three conversions and a penalty.

Sam Potter crossed twice for Ammanford who also had Harrison Garland on the scoresheet. Potter added a penalty and two conversions.

Elsewhere, Luke Darnell’s brace helped Bonymaen beat Tata Steel 27-12 with Tom Poole and Gareth Andrew also scoring. Lawrence Thomas kicked the other seven points.

Dunvant beat Trebanos 21-10, Maesteg Quins got the better of Crymych 21-17 while it was a low-scoring affair as Newcastle Emlyn edged Ystalyfera 3-0 thanks to a second half penalty.
