In December 2010 former Wales and Barbarians flanker Richard Parks will start the unique 737 Challenge – a seven month expedition to climb seven summits.

These include the highest mountain on each of the world’s continents. He will also venture the last 2 degrees to the South Pole and the last degree to the Geographic North Pole. All against a seven month clock.

As part of the process of learning how his body will respond to the extreme conditions, Richard was invited to take part in a cold water immersion test at the University of Portsmouth. In the second part of our exclusive interview with Richard during the testing process, we find out how he responded to this unique experience.

Seven summits, three poles, in seven months. A world first.
