In the final day of the Road to Principality Finals, Stradey Sospans U18s went toe to toe against the Chargers U18s in the first game of the day.

Natalie Barnes made the break to take play into the Sospans half with a strong run, but early pressure from Stradey turned them over to keep them at bay.

Stradey were first on the board after a period of pressure in the Chargers half led to a break out wide from Lowri Elias who charged down the wing to score.

Chargers tried their best to answer back but couldn’t get over the gain line to capitalise.

Stradey on the hunt to extend their lead opted for the posts with Elias kicking through to go 8-0 ahead.

Another break from their own half from Elias looked to be the making of Stradey’s second try only for the fullback to pull up with an injury to stop her impressive performance so far.

With play back underway, Stradey capitalised on the early momentum with Jenna De Vera slicing her way through to score. Maisie-Kate Davies converting.

Chargers kept digging away at Stradey’s defence but struggled to convert the territory into points. Their efforts were rewarded with a try from Barnes after a huge shift from the Captain to put her side on the board.

But Stradey put their foot on the gas and a double from Maisie-Kate Davies saw the final score sit at 5-25 and the Stradey Sospans crowned Girls U18s National Plate winners.
