WRU KICKS OFF SUMMER ROADSHOW PROGRAMME

WRU KICKS OFF SUMMER ROADSHOW PROGRAMME

Visitors to the stand in the sports arena will find information on all elements of community rugby including grassroots, refereeing, coaching and women’s and girls’ rugby. Alongside this, the WRU’s North Wales District Development Officers will be assisting the Urdd Development Officers with the delivery of rugby coaching sessions in the Sports Arena.

It will be the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in rugby to ask questions and find out about rugby in their area. The Roadshow will visit the Urdd Eisteddfod, the Royal Welsh Show and the National Eisteddfod as part of the WRU’s commitment to spread the message of community rugby.

Phil John, WRU Community Rugby Manager, is very positive about the contribution the WRU’s Roadshow will have: “As a Union, we have made it our business to focus on community rugby as a vital part of our game. It is important to get out into the community and we are thrilled this year to be attending the Urdd Eisteddfod in Ruthin, along with the Royal Welsh Show and the National Eisteddfod.

“Children are the future and the Urdd Eisteddfod gives us the opportunity to teach some rugby skills to the children present at the Maes next week and to communicate with children and adults from around Wales.”
