Newport scored five tries as they dispatched Bedwas 39-11 at Rodney Parade. Flanker Craig Hill scored twice, with Paul Williams, Mathew Veater and James Dixon adding scores of their own.

Fly half Dixon also landed four conversions and two penalties to bring his personal tally for the game up to nineteen points. Wing Scott Horner bagged a try for Bedwas, with Shaun Thomas and Phil Dolman scoring a penalty apiece.

Neath players will enjoy the bragging rights in Ospreys training this week after the Welsh All Blacks ran out 29-5 winners over Swansea at the Gnoll.

The hosts dominated throughout and led 19-0 at half-time and despite dreadful conditions which turned the pitch into a mud bath, the sides produced a cracking game. From a break by inside centre Jonathan Spratt, his midfield partner Stephen Thomas crashed over for a try in the opening minutes.

It was one way traffic for Neath as wing Richard Johnston grabbed a try before former Scarlets fly half Gareth Bowen converted both tries as well as kicking five penalties. The Whites had just a second half try by hooker Ashley James to show for their efforts.

Glamorgan Wanderers enjoyed a comfortable 15-3 win over Bridgend at the Memorial Ground with wingers Lenny Woodard and Jamie Jones bagging tries. Centre Gareth McCarthy kicked a penalty and conversion while a penalty by full-back Gareth David was all Bridgend had to show for their efforts.

Aberavon’s trip to Maesteg and Llandovery’s visit to Llanelli both fell victim to the inclement weather.
