Dominant Norris guides Scarlets home

The first round of the Under 18 Girls regional championship was played on Sunday at Llandarcy with comfortable victories for the Blues and Scarlets over the Ospreys and Dragons respectively.

Fly half Rachel Norris guided the Scarlets to a comfortable 51-0 win over the Dragons by scoring three tries and three conversions for a personal haul of 21 points. Centre Lowri Trusslove chipped in with a brace of tries with No 8 Alisha Butchers, second row Carys Davies, full back Jasmine Joyce and wing Ffion Lewis adding touchdowns.

The Blues also kept their try-line intact by recording a 36-0 victory over the Ospreys. Sam Morris led the way with a hat-trick while Taylor Scurlock scored two tries and booted over three conversions, with Sophie Waugh completing the scoring with a try.

The Scarlets and Blues are now level on five points at the top of the table and will be looking for another win before they clash in the last round of fixtures.

This weekend the Blues entertain the Dragons while the Scarlets tackle the Blues. The concluding round will be staged at Aberavon Greenstars on Sunday 2nd February where the Ospreys take on the Dragons and Scarlets tackle the Blues.

The East v West Wales game will be staged at Aberavon Greenstars on Sunday 23rd February with a 10.30 kick-off.
