The Division 1 East champions ran out convincing victors’ over Nant Conwy in the final at the Principality Stadium last season, with wing Josh Congreve scoring a hat-trick in the 50-29 triumph. They are one of three unbeaten teams at the top of Division 1 East so far this season.
They go into the cup round with a perfect record of four bonus point wins, as do their nearest rivals, Penallta. The Pitmen host Abercarn, while third placed Brecon, who are also unbeaten head to Pontypool United
Reigning Division 1 North champions Nant Conwy also have to travel in Round 1. They have been drawn away at Bro Ffestiniog.
