In Division 1 East Central, St Peter’s came back from a 20 point deficit to pip St Joseph’s 27-25 with a penalty 30 seconds from time. The ‘Rocks’ looked dead and buried at 25-5, yet came back to win and close the gap at the top to four points from Rumney.
Crymych’s 40-12 home win over Gowerton took them to the top of Division 1 West, while Bala moved up to fourth in Division 1 North thanks to their 12-8 triumph at Caernarfon.
Further down the National Leagues, Newport Saracens are now a couple of points away from clinching the Division 3 East A title after their latest win, 27-16 at fifth place Nantyglo. They are unbeaten in nine games and have two left to play.
They hold a 14 point advantage over Whiteheads in second and 17 over third-placed Chepstow. In the North, Wrexham are one win away from winning the Division 2 North crown and could take the title with a victory at Mold this weekend.
