Good luck messages inspire Wales

Welsh Rugby Union supporters club members sent in hundreds of good luck messages to their team last week ahead of the historic Invesco Perpetual Series clash with New Zealand.

The players sought inspiration from the messages posted on the dressing room wall before the Millennium Stadium showdown against the All Blacks. The power of the word was there for all to see as Warren Gatland’s side led the mighty All Blacks at halftime.

Hundreds of fans post or email messages to WRU offices, but last week the WRU Supporters Club made the unique commitment to exclusively display messages from its members in the warm-up area of the home changing room.

After the resounding success last week, with many players seeking inspiration from the fans words in the quiet moments before kick-off against All Blacks, the WRU are repeating the invitation this week ahead of the final match of the series with Australia.

The Wales players traditionally read a message board in their dressing room before and after their warm-up sessions on match-day – during those ‘calm before the storm’ moments – and they could see your words minutes before they enter the pitch against the Wallabies.

Only supporters club member messages will be posted on the dressing room walls, so if you would like to join the supporters club, contact Eleanor Ryan at eryan@wru.co.uk
