And Jones is proud to be involved in the elite squad.

“Its something I’ve dreamt about ever since I was a boy, and it came true two years ago. Now I can repeat it again, and hopefully put in good performances for the Welsh public and my family.”

Wales can boast the likes of Rhys Williams, and Gareth Thomas in the backline – and Jones himself – and Jones speaks of the team strengths he hopes will develop and grow in time for the World Cup next year.

“I think the main strengths of the side have go to be the pace in the side, and the youth amongst the players.

“We’re a young side, and we are very very keen. There are some exciting players in the squad both up front and behind.”

And Jones is demonstrating the kind of confidence Steven Hansen will be encouraging.

“If we can get some tempo in the game and throw the ball around I’m sure we can give the best teams in the world a run for their money.”
