Lions Coach Sir Clive Woodward has picked Shane Williams on the left wing, Ryan Jones at No.8 and Gavin Henson selected at inside centre giving the Ospreys strong representation in the Lions side for the fixture to be played at the Westpac Stadium, Wellington on Saturday morning, kick off at 8.10am UK time.

“We are delighted and proud with the selection of our players in the starting side for Saturdays second test, and it is an honour for the Ospreys to be represented through Shane, Gavin and Ryan,” said Jones. “We are sure that the boys will not take a backward step and will put up a strong show against what is clearly an extremely capable All Blacks side.

“We should not forget that Brent Cockbain is now also in the Lions squad, after a well deserved call up and following on from a hugely impressive year at the Ospreys and with Wales. From an Ospreys viewpoint it would be nice to think that Brent could be involved at test level before the end of the tour.

“For a region that has only been in existence for two seasons to have four tourists and three test Lions is a remarkable achievement and reflects well on coaches, management and everyone involved with the Ospreys.”
