The two former Welsh internationals will join the Arms Park outfit on a part-time basis whilst retaining their current roles with Cardiff RFC and Pontypridd respectively.

Ring, who is backs coach at Cardiff RFC, will focus on attack with McIntosh, who was named Principality Premiership coach of the year 2013, working on the defence.

The Welsh region have also announced that recently-retired hooker Andi Kyriacou has joined the coaching team.

“We aim to bolster the coaching team with the appointment of Dale McIntosh, Mark Ring and Andi Kyriacou, who will be involved on specific times throughout the week with player skill development,” said Director of Rugby Phil Davies.

“Last season saw us blood a number of young players and 20 matches were won or lost by less than one score.

“With that in mind, one of the main areas we wanted to develop was the technical skills in attack and defence as well as the set-piece, especially the scrum.”
