Wanderers face ‘massive’ test

Head coach Matthew Bolton has blended some of the experienced squad from last season with some exciting new talent that has joined the club this year.

Up front Rhys Jenkins takes on the role as club captain from the front row and he has the experience of Dan Richards and Owain Thomas with him in the pack.

New flanker Gus Hogg fought off some tough competition to start at openside while behind the scrum new centres Haydn Palmer and Mark Sole form a formidable partnership and out wide the fire power is provided by Ray Bishop and Lloyd Chalke.

“We know from last season’s results that Ystrad will be a massive test first up,” commented backs coach Nick Wakely. “We have had a good preseason and I am very excited by this backline,” he added.

 Manager Luke Burton added: “This season we have some real strength in depth and competition for places will be massive”
