Awards evening caps off fine Ebbw Vale season

Ebbw Vale held their annual presentation evening in front of a sold out crowd at Eugene Cross Park.

The event was attended by players, families, club officials and supporters as another fantastic season was celebrated after the Steelmen reach the Premiership Grand Final in their first season back in the top flight of Welsh club rugby.

The evening included speeches from President Mark Powell, Chairman Jon Jones and Head Coach Jason Strange as well as the presentation of a number of awards voted for by supporters, officials and players including the new Helper of the Year Award.
 
Winners of awards were as follows:

Gareth Howls Captain’s Award: Damien Hudd
Ebbw Addicts’ Most promising player: Harrison Keddie
Ivor Evans Clubman of the year: Damien Hudd
Denzil Williams Players’ Player: Dan Haymond
Ebbw Addicts Player of the year: Cameron Reagan
Clive Burgess Man of Steel: Rob Sevenoaks
Ebbw Addicts Volunteer Award: Angharad Simpson
 
Seven players were presented with framed team photos to celebrate reaching 100 appearances for the club. They were: Damien Hudd, Ashley Sweet, Ross Jones, Rob Sevenoaks, Ronny Kynes, Wes Cunliffe, Mathew Williams.
 
The players will be presented with their 100 caps at the first home game of next season.

During the presentation, it was also confirmed that Damien Hudd would captain the side for a sixth successive season.
