Full back Bailey Roberts opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a try that owed as much to good fortune as it did to excellent footballing skills as he made the most of a poor pass by dribbling from half-way to the 22 and then gathering a kind bounce.

He finished off with a turn of speed that saw him cross in the right corner to give the champions a great start.
Centre Ioan Evans then followed up a neat kick through in the home 22 to pick up a ricochet off the post to score a second try.

NPTC hit back with a try from their wing Jordan Evans as he took a pass out of a tackle by full back Iestyn Morgan. That made it 12-5 at the break, but Cymoedd put their foot on the gas in the second half and a try from Iwan Sheppard put clear daylight between the two sides before the visitors ran out comfortable winners.

Today (Wednesday, 10 October) sees an all Cardiff Blues regional clash at the Arms Park between Cardiff & Vale College and Whitchurch HS and the clash of the round on the artificial surface at Ystrad Mynach where Gwent College will be looking to hold onto their unbeaten record against Ysgol Glantaf.

That game will see Glantaf’s Wales U18 lock Teddy Williams, who made his debut for Cardiff Blues A in the Celtic Cup this month, face his fellow U18 cap Ewan Rosser. They were team mates on the tour to South Africa in August.
