The 34-year-old outside half spent two seasons at Rodney Parade during a playing career that also saw him play at Cardiff, Bridgend, Carmarthen Quins, Swansea and Bedwas. He scored 238 points in 42 games in Black & Amber between 2006-08.

Born in Maesteg, he made the Wales U21 squad early in his career and spent the past three seasons helping out with the coaching at Cardiff RFC, initially in a skills and conditioning role before progressing to lead their attack.

During his coaching time at the Arms Park he helped them win the Specavers National Cup and top the Premiership table before lockdown brought a premature end to last season’s matches.
